My love of genealogy comes from having a very diverse cultural background. My father was born in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar), emmigrated to the US at age 18 and joined the US Air Force. He met and married my mother while stationed in South Texas. They began their family when I was born in Heidelberg, Germany. While there, they shared an apartment building with two young women who just happened to be missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My father, a Buddhist, and my mother, a Protestant, struck up an unlikely friendship and eventually converted to Mormonism.
After my father retired, we settled in the Chicago area, where we continued to be very active in our faith. The Mormon culture and religion has very strong ties to genealogy work, and it was at church in my youth where I first learned how to build a Family Tree. After graduating from Palatine High School, I continued my education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where I also had the opportunity to work in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Additional studies include the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the National Genealogical Society Family History Conference.
While my professional experience has been in Technical Sales, Marketing and Management, Genealogy research has always been a subject for personal focus and growth and has developed into an area of specialty. As genealogy resources and technology have progressed, my technical expertise and genealogy research skills have come together in a powerful way. I truly enjoy helping individuals navigate the court systems, trace their family lines to establish kinship and ensure that estates are dispersed to only rightful heirs.
